Tom was born in Colorado and spent most of his life in the deserts of Arizona. After high school he attended Capernwray in England and Ambrose University College in Calgary. Tom married Malora in 2003 and the two of them did youth ministry in California and Arizona before coming to Dalhousie. The Mulherns have one son, Noah James, and a basset hound, Buster.

Tom is passionate about encouraging youth and young adults to encounter Christ in a life changing way. He desires to see a community of youth who are actively engaging with Christ, each other, and those around them.
