We’ve recently coined a nice catch-phrase here at DCC that focuses our energy in clear ways:

“Get equipped where we gather. Share community where you live.”

That simple collection of words says a whole lot. For one thing, it reminds us that Church isn’t a building. We are, wherever we gather. It also reminds us that the true measure of a church isn’t how many people it can squeeze into the pews; its how many people in those pews are making a difference when they’re not sitting in them. “Church” encompasses both what we do centrally and what we do in a decentralized way. Centrally speaking, our invitation is, “Get equipped where we gather,” which tells you what you can expect from our Sunday Services and our programs. This equipping focus takes three different forms – celebration, teaching, and training. When we gather you can expect to celebrate God & what he’s doing around us, learn life-changing Biblical truths, become equipped to live out the Christian life wherever you live, work, and play. The rest of your week is in your court, but we want to help: “Share community where you live.” That’s our way of saying that when you step out of the church building on Sunday, church has just begun. That’s where we all carry on the mission of Christ both personally and in smaller neighborhood gatherings called Life Groups. In our Life Groups we support and care for each other, grow in our faith through personal Study and application of God’s word, and serve our friends and neighbors. This is where we love people into fellowship with us, inviting them into our community – and hopefully, one day help them give their lives to Jesus Christ. So there you have it. Get equipped where we gather. Share community where you live.
